The Night Dungeon Rules

Journal Entry: Sat May 19, 2007, 6:50 AM
Welcome to The Night Dungeon. The goal of this room is to have a nice fun place where everyone can come to chat and be free and be themselves with minimal amount of control and rules. Here will be detailed the rules of the chatroom and how to be promoted once you enter the chatroom and a description of the classes.

First lets start with the rules.

1. Abide by all general rules of DeviantArt. They're pretty straightforward. No cybering no self-mutilation or suicide, no distribution of illegal software or any kind of filesharing, etc. Pretty simple.

2. Do not directly attack or harass a person about a character trait they cannot help, for instance skin color, eye color, hair color, gender, sexual preference, etc.

3. Obey all staff members and don't discuss drama and problems with staff in the room, always use notes or msn out of courtesy.

4. If its not listed here assume it isn't a rule; if more rules are necessary they will be added. If its not here, its fair game.

5. And lastly, don't tell other people what to do and not to do especially if what they're doing or not doing isn't mentioned in the official rules. Let each person be themselves, and if you don't like someone then don't talk to them rather than try to change them.

Alright, now lets talk about the privclasses. We'll discuss what they are and how to be promoted.

Upon entering the room you will be classified as a Lurker. A lurker is an inhabitant of the night dungeon that is generally around and about but has not been recognized or officially accepted by the regular members of the dungeon. To advance out of this class you must add TheNightDungeon to your watch list and make your presence known generally. Don't bring up how long you've been a lurker and don't ask to be promoted out of this class. Your promotion will come when the Dominators and Masters deem ready.

Once you've been promoted you can choose between The Inhuman, The Undead, and The Twisted. These three are member classes all equal in rank, just different types for whatever suits your own personality and roleplay styles.

The Inhuman are humans, mortals, who have existed in the conditions of the dungeon for such a time they've become quite depraved and reckless. Some delve into the magicks and others are just plain weird. Either way, despite their mortality they can more than hold their own and demand respect from the other creatures of the dungeon.

The Undead consist mostly of vampires. Any mortal in the dungeon who has had the misfortune of happening across some of the creatures that dwell in the dark corners of the dungeon and have been transformed into creatures of the dark themselves. If you become a member of this class its up to you to decide personally whether you want to be a vampire or some other form of undead creature.

The Twisted are denizens of the dungeon who have simply lost their minds. The blood, the dark, the torture, what have you, has caused them to utterly go insane. They are a bit eccentric at times and scare even the undead once in awhile. These wild unpredictable loonies are not to be messed with. Don't let their mortality fool you.

Now for the lesser classes.

The Shadows are inhabitants who have fallen into disfavor with the Dominators and Masters. They have thus been banished to the shadows of the dungeon, forbidden to even speak aloud in the presence of other members. They can choose to hide in the dark corners until the Masters have forgiven their transgressions, at which time they can make their way back into the more populated areas of the dungeon. Or, if the Masters refuse to forgive, these shadows may meet their untimely demise in the dark outer regions of the dungeon and become nothing more than worms.

Worms are the most hated of the Masters. The Masters have powers. Powers that can scarcely be dreamt of by someone who has not witnessed them firsthand. Although, rumors do abound. A popular rumor amongst the creatures of the dungeon is that many of the rats and worms upon which we tread on and tread over, are actually former sentient beings who angered The Masters. Once transformed, if that is indeed how it happens, into worms, the beings are never heard from again. They are simply doomed to wander the depths of the dungeon, unseen, unheard, and forgotten.

Now for the greater classes

The Dominators are what is commonly called staff. Upon being promoted to The Dominator class your character retains all classes, abilities, and such from your former member class, however you are now recognized as a more powerful and long-term member of the dungeon. As a dominator you are tasked with controlling the dungeon should The Masters not be present. Sometimes out of respect for any masters present, a dominator may handle a problem or issue with a lower member without forcing The Masters to lift a finger. For the problem member: Be glad if The Masters don't have to deal with you directly, as we are much more powerful, and much more quick to anger than The Dominators. For The Dominator: Do not, however, be overly zealous and try to assert your new, or even old, authority. The Masters do not like those who are power-hungry and are quick to put you back into your place.

The Masters are, as of now, the rulers of the dungeon.

:iconlacunawolffe: :iconraistlindantilus:

The highest ranking and most powerful members. Both are vampires who have existed for countless centuries together in the depths of The Night Dungeon. Put simply, they are not to be fucked with. There are not currently any plans to EVER add anymore masters to the dungeon. So do not ask.

Any questions, comments, or concerns should be dealt with via notes and msn, not through comments on this journal. Feel free to leave any non-relevant comments here, however. Thank you all for reading this, and enjoy your eternity in the dungeon.
